Congress is Broken

4/7/06: Congress under Republican control is broken. It doesn't work for average Americans. It doesn't work for seniors, or the poor, or college kids trying to finance their educaiton, or Hurricane Katrina victims or veterans, or the 47 million uninsured. It only works for big corporations, the wealthy, special interests, major campaign contributors, and those members of Congress who choose to abuse their position of trust to enrich themselves. Tom DeLay may have stepped aside in the House, but the culture and conditions that encouraged his rise to power still exist. Little will change until we change the balance of power in Washington.
